  • Anything negative about your former boss/employer.
  • Do not complain about the salary.
  • You left on bad terms.

What are your salary expectations?

  • This is a stressful question because if you ask for too much you will not get the job, and if you ask for too little they will gladly underpay you.
  • Be sure to research salary expectations for your role before you go into the interview. There are plenty of sites that will discuss salary ranges.
  • If you don’t know what to say then ask what the salary range is?  You can then counter with the high end of the range.

Before we begin Telus Telecommunications Technician Interview Questions let’s first understand what a technician does, and what experience and the role requires.

What does a Technician do?
  • As a Telecommunications Technician with their team, you will be responsible for the installation and support of products related to the Future Friendly Home (FFH), home networking, phone, high-speed internet, Optik TV, etc., in customers’ homes. Your priority will be to offer extraordinary customer service while installing and repairing voice and data services: phone, internet, TV, for our residential and business customers. You will also find opportunities to promote and up-sell additional TELUS services and/or products when appropriate.

What experience does this role require?

  • Previous experience and/or education in telecommunications
  • Previous experience in customer service and/or sales
  • Clean and valid Class 5 Driver’s License or other provincial equivalents, a driver’s abstract will be required.
  • Handle a physically demanding workload which includes heavy lifting, climbing ladders/poles, crawling in confined spaces and working in all weather conditions
